The superb weather as I write this has brought all the convertibles out,
and 10 members recently attended a new event in Felixstowe featuring Cars and
Kites. There were some amazing large kites on display, and a collection of
various classics including PO 9500, a wonderful 1934 SS2 Sports, which was the
subject of a four page magazine article in April. Come the end of the show, we
were invited to drive round the ring, and were then very pleased that the judges
had decided to award the inaugural silver cup to the JEC for our display. It had
ranged from the 1930s, through a Mark 2, E type, XJS and X300, XK8 and XKR
convertibles to a brand new limited edition F type, supplied by Marshalls.
Several members are off in June to the Isle of Man in 10 Jaguars, and our
calendar has some interesting venues lined up for shows in the summer, so do get
in touch to book your car in – full details are given on the emailed programme
sheet. The new tent was erected in speedy time recently, but not required, so we
are hoping it is bringing good weather to our show attendances. We have had
several new members join in the past few weeks, and look forward to meeting you
at The Cricketers in due course.
