Essex and Suffolk Borders - July News

News from our chairman and from around the region

The trip to Warners in Somerset went well and we are now fully into the shows; just as well that summer seems to have arrived at last. August will see attendances at Helmingham Hall on the 4th, Stonham Barns on 18th, and a new show for us at the Orwell Bridge on 26th. This is the site of the Suffolk Foodhall, so there should be some good produce to buy. The views of the River Orwell are good, too.

We still have places available for the Classic Team Lotus tour on 21 September, so contact Martin if you would like to go.

James has been busy securing speakers for our club nights and we have Suffolk Owl Sanctuary for August, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf in September, and the Resistance in Suffolk in WW2 for October. All three should be good, but having been to a talk before about the Resistance - as Norfolk and Suffolk were particularly likely to see enemy lines - the measures taken were amazing. Hollowed out tree trunks and hinged toilets were involved, I kid you not - it should be fascinating! New members very welcome.
