Essex and Suffolk Borders - July News

New from around the region

Summer is now in full swing and temperatures hit 40 degrees for the first time. On that day one of my Jaguars was having it's aircon regassed, a very timely operation!

We visited Woodham Mortimer in Essex, previously JD Classics, well known restorers and had a good look round the spacious premises. Members were interested to see cars being restored and classics for sale. In the throes of repair was a member's E Type, which was now coming together nicely after an encounter with a wall. The firm talked about putting the old mangled bonnet on display at the premises!

Weeting Steam Fair was hot and dusty, as expected and a little drama was added when a freak wind suddenly hit and several parasols and tents literally went flying. Luckily there was no damage to any vehicles and Martin will attend to the fractured poles in the gazebo. We are looking into other shows available for next year, as several have been cancelled or reduced in their format and will be trying out some new ones next summer.

In the meantime there are still five more events on the calendar for this year, so lots to look forward to.
