The sun is now shining and the show season is underway. We got off to a good start with clear blue sky for Drive It Day and an interesting trip to the English Whisky Company. Many members enjoyed a few days away at Littlecote, with a tour around Bath ably arranged by Bob Weaver. We then had the Clacton Classic Car Show towards the end of May, which was the first proper show of the year. We wanted to have a good contingent of Jaguars in memory of Colin McLean who was instrumental in organising the show for many years and we invited our neighbours from Thameside to attend. Over 20 were on show and I heard a man talking to his wife saying there were three cars at the event he would like to take home and they were all open top Jaguars.
There are numerous events coming up over the summer months and sometimes two on the same day, so please contact a committee member if you would like to bring your car along. We have had quite a few new members recently and we would be delighted to see your cars.
The monthly meeting featuring Help for Heroes was well received and they will be our charity for next year. Have a good summer.
