Essex and Suffolk Borders - January News

News from our Chairman and from around the region

With the New Year gone, preparations have started for our annual show at Rickinghall, to be held on Sunday May 19th; please put it in your diaries now! Some exhibitors have already approached saying they would love to come again. We will tweak things from time to time to improve the show. Last year the owner of a Rolls Royce Corniche clearly got the wrong end of the stick when we had over 50 voting slips for his car in his own writing, so there will be no voting this year and it will be judged differently!

Despite the Region's name, our membership area covers the whole of Suffolk and members living close to the Norfolk border are very welcome to get in touch. The first of the Sunday lunches went well and I am sure Clacton ( 18 February) and Felixstowe ( 24 March) will go equally well.

A recent visit to the Auctions saw a lovely red 420G go for £21330 (Estimate £20 - 25k), a smart gold '65 3.8 S Type for £17820 ( £17 - 20k) and a 15000 mile '99 S Type in Seafrost for £7452 ( £8 - 10k). All looked very presentable and it will be interesting to see if any of them make it to shows this summer.

A new events list will be issued shortly, and the AGM will be at our March meeting, where we hope to get as many members attending as possible.
