Essex and Suffolk Borders - December News

News from our Chairman and from around the region

Firstly, Happy New Year to everyone. By the time you read this, the first of our Sunday golf club lunches will have taken place at Diss on 21 January. Please register with Bob Welton for Clacton on 18 February and Kevin Cosgrave for Felixstowe on 24 March.

As we look to 2024, please keep 19 May free for our own show at Rickinghall. For those that say ' I don't know what I am doing yet on 19 May', you do now! I am already getting enquiries from past exhibitors, so let's hope we can build on our previous success and make it a good show. As you know, we aim to give a large chunk of the profit to a charity. For 2024 it is to be a small charity called the NFold Project, based in Clacton, helping vulnerable and homeless people.

Our AGM was previously incorporated into the February meeting, but a vote confirmed agreement to change it to March to allow time for the finances to be balanced as at the end of December, particularly with no meeting in January. Subs will be due at the AGM, again held at £15. Guest speaker costs have risen significantly over the past couple of years, but our Rickinghall Show provides a buffer to enable us to operate without an increase.

I look forward to seeing you at the various events; an updated schedule will be sent as dates are finalised.
