Essex and Suffolk Borders - December News

News for the end of the year from around the region

I think 2020 will be safely behind us when you read this, so Happy New Year everyone! Not that it is getting off to a great start - you will have seen from my recent newsletter that the January lunch at the Felixstowe Golf Club is cancelled, but depending on the guidelines at the time we hope the others will proceed. Provisionally we have February 21 at Clacton Golf Club and March 21 at the Ipswich Hotel, Copdock.

If you have not done so from the newsletter, please mark your new diaries and calendars for the Rickinghall Car Show and Craft Fair for the weekend of 15/16 May. By then, with any luck, meetings will have resumed at the Cricketers. Assuming, that is, that we all remember how to get there. We will keep you informed of progress.

Once we are up and going again, ( and vaccinated... ) I will resurrect the idea of a trip to Banham Zoo. This was to be a group visit with a dedicated room for our sole use for lunch and afternoon tea, a talk from a conservationist and an allocated parking area for the car's. Zoos themselves are now becoming an endangered species, with all the Covid lockdowns destroying the income. As well as an informative visit, it would be nice to do our little bit to assist.

Our AGM will not be taking place as normal in early February, and will most likely be postponed until we can meet again.
Stay safe, everyone.
