Essex and Suffolk Borders - August News

News from around the region

As I write this at the end of August we have just had record breaking bank holiday temperatures in the East, so ideal top down weather again - good job it is still working OK with its new pipework. We have been busy attending shows at Helmingham, Hyde Hall and the JDC Jaguar Day at Elveden. At the latter we preferred to stay in our ranks rather than join the sections for judging - nevertheless, Bob Welton got the cup for the best visiting Jaguar with his lovely Mark 2, and Peter Pearson got the prize for the car people would most like to take home for his 1939 Drophead called Felix. That attracted a rather large cup to go with the recently won steering wheel, but it is probably done so that we go again next year to return the silverware.

The club seems to be flourishing at the moment, with several new members going full on with show and function attendances, and resulting good line ups - let's hope it continues, and thanks to you all.
We will shortly be getting our brains into gear to start planning next year's Rickinghall Show, so all offers of help would be welcome.
Finally, I attach a photo of one of only four XJ13 replicas seen at Elveden. Now that's what you call a heated rear window.......
