As I write this, our attendance at the Helmingham Show is next weekend. I was there at a dog show last weekend, in drizzle and 16 degrees and three days before that it was 38 degrees! So let's hope for somewhere in between.

A week before that was Weeting, a steam extravaganza rather than a car show, but the number of classic cars attending was up on last year, which was good to see. We try to attend a variety of different shows during the season and each has its own 'feel' and plus points but members usually have an enjoyable day. At the last monthly meeting, we suggested two further venues for 2020 and one cancellation, but the majority did not want to see anything cancelled, so it looks like a full calendar again next year.

We are not running our usual coach to the NEC show this year, as we struggled to get numbers to fill it in 2018, but I am sure several members will go under their own steam.

Places at our annual Dinner Dance in November are filling up fast and as I write we have space for just two more couples. It promises to be quite a lavish affair, with a Venetian Ball flavour, so if you have been debating whether to go or not, take the plunge and book your tickets!
