Essex and Suffolk Borders - August News

News from the Region

As I write this in late July we are now about ten weeks without rain in Suffolk, so only hope our attendance at the Weeting Steam Rally at the weekend does not coincide with grass fires! There will be an excellent turnout of traction engines for their 50th Anniversary show. August will be a busy month for the club with large shows at Helmingham, Hyde Hall and Duxford to attend, so more on these next month. The Bloodrunners talk at the July meeting went very well as £174 was collected on the night for the charity, and members were amazed at the dedication of the bikers who get up at 2 am on a November night to transport blood products around the region at their own expense. The annual Dinner Dance is now fully booked with a waiting list, but we have space on the coach to the NEC Classic Car Show on 11 November, and members wishing to book should get in touch within Martin or Geoff. Guests, friends and family welcome; first come, first served.
We have had several new members join recently and hope you are enjoying the club; we look forward to seeing your car and do join us for the NEC trip.
