With just one show on the horizon as I write this - Glemham, which appears to still be on - there has been little to write about this year so far for the club. We seem to be in a permanent state of limbo, even if it was allowed to go ahead. We did have a committee meeting in July, and the decision was taken to cancel the November DInner Dance. With current regulations only allowing 30 at weddings, with no dancing, the prospect looked a little shaky and the take - up was not great. Understandably, people were concerned about Covid so even if the event was allowed to proceed we thought it better to cancel at this stage.
We are keeping an eye on the Classic Car Show situation at the NEC, as advised in my recent newsletter and further details will follow after the next committee meeting.
I sincerely hope that by the end of the year we will see an end to the virus and can get the club up and running again. We have a great membership, eager to see things return to normal, whatever that now means. But it may well be that severe restrictions will extend into next year - we can only wait and see.
In the meantime enjoy your cars and stay safe everyone.
