Essex and Suffolk Borders - April

News from our Chairman and from around the region

Drive It Day on 21 April saw a decent line up of 16 cars at Kersey Mill, where a surprisingly large number were gathered. There were eight different areas in an attractive setting, with the necessary wagon to get the bacon rolls on arrival! It was pretty cold, though and as people were leaving around 2.30 we followed suit.

We have a good selection of shows on the Events List this year, with some being first - time locations, plus the June holiday to Warners and a trip to Classic Team Lotus in September.

We await May with a talk on the Paris to Peking Rally at our clubnight, and of course our Rickinghall Car Show on 19th. Preparations are now virtually there and over 200 vehicles should be on show. These include a line up of tractors of various ages and one man is bringing along a quarter scale working model. Then we have a few rarities such as a Gordon Keeble, a Jensen 541 and Plymouth Roadrunner. Our neighbours from Thameside will be bringing a row of 12 Jaguars to support our own 27, so it should go well. With the Craft Fair in the hall and plant sales outside, there should be something for everybody. More news on how it went next month.
