Our Drive It Day event took place on 30 April, one week after the official date. There were three good reasons - other events to go to, Chairman on holiday and Citroëns had booked the venue. We drove to the Aviation Museum at Flixton, in North Suffolk, parked the Jaguars amongst the aircraft and were surprised by the amount of memorabilia and parts on display. There were parts of WW2 planes that have been discovered in farmer's fields, and pulled from the sea in fishing nets off Lowestoft, as well as many complete aircraft and artefacts. An interesting visit, followed by Sunday lunch in the pub next door.
Preparations are well in hand for our show at Rickinghall on 21 May and I will be able to report on this next month. We have lots of volunteers to assist setting up, always a good sign and with a large selection of cars of all ages, a collection of tractors, coffee, burgers and ice cream, it looks like it will be a good day.
Our speaker at the June meeting will be from Colchester Zoo, which was very informative last time, so do please come along.
