End of 2024 get-togethers

Grampian JEC held its Annual General Meeting on 15th November. Our chairman reviewed the various activities which took place during the past year. We also reviewed membership numbers and club finances. We agreed to make a significant donation to our chosen charity, the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance. Officer bearers remained unchanged apart from the position of Secretary. Roger Sambrook has stepped down from the role to be replaced by John Harrington. Grampian JEC are very grateful to Roger for his years of service.

Our Christmas get together changed from dinner to lunch this year, a factor that gained universal approval from the members, even if there were a number of apologies! Storm Darragh hit the UK that day, causing lots of disruption and for Grampian it meant a lot of heavy rain and consequent road surface water, so 4 x 4 and SUV cars were chosen in preference to Jaguars to get 22 members and partners around the table at Kippie in Aberdeen. As always, the Lodge and the young staff contingent did us proud. The room was decorated to suit, and the menu choices were excellent. The crack was good as the food was delivered – 3 courses, beverages plus fudge and mince pies! Who could ask for more?! Cards and seasonal good wishes were exchanged and the Festive Trivia Quiz was won by Roger and Morven Sambrook, who took home the topical Jaguar TCS Racing logo pen. It was an enjoyable social occasion to round off 2024!
