With Christmas now behind us and the days getting a bit longer, we can only hope that our activities and show attendances will be 'full on' this year. The severe disruption from Covid meant not much happened in 2020, and 2021 did not really get going until August, with restrictions still in place. Our Sunday lunches in January, February and March usually get the year off to a good start. This year, the attendance was down in January, February looks lower than normal as well and the venue for March seems to be closed to the public at present, so that's definitely off!
Some members are still shielding, but perhaps we need to revisit the activities for the beginning of the year.
Karen will be sending out a new schedule of shows and activities shortly and so do please get in touch to advise which ones you wish to attend. Hopefully you will already have our own Rickinghall Car Show and Craft Fair in your diaries for Sunday 22 May and as well as your car attendance we would like your input into car park attending, raffle ticket selling, taking money on the gate, or sweeping up!
By the time you read this we will have had our AGM, when other shows will have been discussed, but a new one for us this year over the August Bank Holiday weekend will be Open Gardens at Walsham - le - Willows. It is their 40th year and we are invited to display our cars in one of the gardens, suitably close to the beer and burgers being sold for lunch.
As always, the committee will always welcome suggestions for events and visits and let's hope we have a suitable warm and dry summer.
