We had 29 attend this month’s meeting and as we had no specific agenda this it was a good chance for everyone to have a chat and enjoy a meal at the Robin Hood.
After a few months hard work by Hartley Jenkinson, we were able to let everyone see, especially Beverly Hurrell, the new Trophy in memory of Chris who sadly passed away earlier this year. He was a great supporter of the group, and this can now be presented every year at an event yet to be decided. We are in discussion with Bev as to just what form this will take and will report back in due course. It was also good to see Chris’s son Jack at the meeting, together with his partner, driving the XK8 Convertible and this brought back many memories for us all. We miss you Chris but know you will be looking down on us and making sure we behave!!
By the time you read this we will have returned from our 3-day trip to Northumberland and a full report will follow. We are looking to 2024 and trips away and have already booked a visit to the Morgan Car Factory and a drive through the Shropshire Hills and the dates for this are 16th to 19th April. Please get in touch if you are interested and full details have been circulated.
Later in 2024 we are looking at the Ribble Valley and Trough of Bowland for a 2/3-night stay. This is a beautiful area of the country and generally not too busy and once we have some idea on prices, we will let everyone know.
Just a reminder we have our Christmas Lunch booked at Biggin hall on Sunday 17th December and as soon as I have the menus from the hotel, I will send these out as we need to pre order as before.
