With the rubbish weather we have been experiencing this year we had to delay the planned “Run Out” scheduled for our July meeting and instead enjoyed our evening meeting at the Robin Hood with drinks and food together with 32 members including Phil and Richard Lindley from the South Yorkshire Region who joined us for the evening. They were made very welcome and hope they enjoyed our company, and we will see them again over the coming months, although they did come in for a bit of “banter” from our Chairman, which was returned with true Yorkshire humour!!
On Sunday 7th July we had the Baslow Car Show and although the weather was looking grim in the morning it brightened up and there was a good turn out for the event and our thanks to Joe Anwy and his colleagues for all the hard work in putting this together and I am sure it will now be a regular event in our calendar.
Some of our members attended the Summer Festival and all the reports were extremely positive, and our thanks must go to everyone in the JEC who made this possible.
In September we are visiting Biddulph Grange near Congleton, which is a National Trust Property with beautiful gardens which should be at their peak at this time, so I hope many of you will support this trip. The date is Tuesday 17th September.
In early October we have our 3-day trip to the Ribble Valley/Trough of Bowland and have a full compliment of 24 booked. This is a lovely part of the country, and we just need some decent weather for our planned run, so fingers crossed.
More detailed reports on the past events can be found on our web page on the JEC website together with photos etc.
