Derbyshire Region - Report for January 2024

This is Roger's report for January, which will appear in the JEC Enthusiast Magazine for March.

A good turnout of over 30 for our last meeting and we were given a talk by Bill Storey from Matlock IAM about driving around Heavy Goods Vehicles, or as they are now referred to as LGV’s (Large Goods Vehicles). I think this was helpful and informative for everyone and having had Bill talk to us many years ago it was good to have him back again as he always has something interesting to pass on.

We have the 2024 Programme ready (see separate post on the web site - Ed), and this has been circulated to everyone on my mailing list and hard copies will be available at the next meeting. We may add one or two more events over the coming weeks and months, and we are happy to receive comments and or criticisms if you think it can be improved.

We plan to run a photo competition this year as a bit of fun entitled “Best Jaguar Photo of the Year” and the idea is to submit a photo taken at any of the Region’s events during the year. We will announce the winner together with a prize at the December lunch at Biggin Hall. The photos will be judged by the committee, and we hope as many of you as possible will enter so please have your phones and cameras at the ready!!

Footnote: We all know that some of you fancy yourselves as experts on Photoshop (or know someone who is!) but we would prefer unadulterated photo's in this competition. Thank you! - Ed.
