Derbyshire Region - Report for December 2022

Roger writes:

Firstly, apologies for no report last month due to an oversight on my part.

We finished the year with our Christmas lunch at Biggin Hall on the 18th December and originally had 48 attending, but due to the weather and some illness we ended up with 40, which was quite acceptable, including two new members, Dave and Sonja Attwood. They have returned to the UK from Holland, and those of you who went on the XK Forum trip to the Continent a year or so ago may remember them, as they hosted an event over there, so welcome to you both. We had an excellent lunch but unfortunately when we were leaving the weather turned to rain following a few days of very cold temperatures and the car park was a sheet of ice resulting in a fall by Terry Davey who ended up in A&E with a broken bone in her arm! She is progressing okay according to Maurice and he tell me his cooking and housekeeping skill have improved tremendously over the last few weeks!!

Plans for 2023 are well under way with 3 short trips away planned through the year plus the usual monthly meetings at the Robin Hood. As in previous years the first quarter meetings will be at lunchtime, from 12 noon onwards, then reverting back to evenings from April onwards, and full details will be emailed to everyone shortly once everything has been agreed. We are always looking for volunteers to run the odd quiz or talk during the year so please give it a thought.
