Derbyshire Region November Report

November Report

We hope things are slowly getting back to normal and that by the beginning of next year we can all start to enjoy our Jaguars once again with the freedom we have been used to.

Our November meeting was attended by 26 members with their respective partners, but we were restricted with the use of the room at the Devonshire Arms as due to the ongoing Chatsworth Estate Christmas Market the hotel was full, and guests were having to use the room as well as us!

We are hoping that for 2022 this will be resolved, as we are returning to the newly refurbished Robin Hood just up the road from January 2022 onwards. We recently met with the Group Manager and Chef, and they are keen to have us back, and we agreed to work together to ensure future meetings run well. This is obviously something new for them, but as we had been going for over 10 years under the previous management, they want to build on this, which is good for both parties.

We have agreed our January meeting will be held at lunchtime from 12 noon onwards and the timing of the February/March meetings will be confirmed later, as we are trying to get a speaker to one of the dates and it depends on their availability.

The pub has been completely refurbished and is much better than before, as whilst the food was very good, the place itself was getting very tired and run down, but not now, and I think you will all be pleased with the transformation.

Our proposed programme for 2022 has been circulated to everyone and whilst there are a few dates to be confirmed we think there is something for everyone. Any comment and or suggestion’s are appreciated.
