Our March meeting started with a glorious (if cold!) sunny morning, bringing out the best in the Derbyshire scenery. The meeting started at 12.00, but your scribe set off at 10.00 (the Robin Hood is only 8 miles away!!) in order to take a very circuitous route to the RH. There was little traffic en route, and the scenery was fantastic. Heading up to Bakewell, then Monsall Head, Winnats Pass, Hathersage, Owler Bar and the on to the Robin Hood for 12.00 (well it should have been, except for a road closure near Upper Newbold!).
Most folks were already there by the time I arrived at 12.10.
John Eyre (who we have not seen for a while) brought along his fabulous XK150S Convertible, which we all admired before he left (hood down, obviously, given the weather!). Looking forward to seeing you (and the car) again soon John.
Roger gave an update on forthcoming events, notably Whitby at the end of April, and the Lakes trip in October.
We also have a trip to Dovedale Garage on 8th May, where there will be a mini Classic Car Show, with a raffle to raise funds for charity. Some special cars are promised!
The 26th March sees a trip to Inchcape Derby, to discover current Jaguar models and possibly a glimpse into the future of Jaguar's plans.
There's a packed programme for 2022, so make sure you don't miss anything!
