We were blessed with glorious weather for the Summer Festival Sunday at Gaydon
Jaguars - you have never seen so many in one place! They were everywhere you looked! In the display area, the reserved parking, the public parking, literally everywhere!
With so many present, it was difficult to pick a favourite. Hopefully the images give a good impression of the depth and the quality of cars there. Whilst Wayne gave a running commentary, we walked the display cars, car parks, museum, heritage cars etc etc.
For the first time we visited the lower floor of the museum's storage area, and what a revelation of Jaguars that was. See the picture of the polished aluminium XJ as an example. It was packed with cars (and visitors!). They were even restricting entry at one point to manage numbers!
From fellow members we heard tales of the formal dinner the night before, including 2 cars on display in the hotel. Truly nothing had been spared to make this a memorable event.
Well done to all those involved in planning, organising, manning and supporting the event so that we may enjoy it.
Photo's: Hartley Jenkinson and Nigel Mitchell - For those of you wondering why the truck picture is included, it is the tractor unit of the large screen unit. If you look closely you will see the letters 'XF' in familiar script on the tractor unit door below the mirror. Was nothing left to chance?
