Derbyshire Region - February '25 Monthly Meeting Report

This month we were given a presentation on Electric Vehicles by local car enthusiast Martin Rowley.

Martin's presentation covered a wide sphere, starting with electric vehicles originating from the beginning of the motoring story dating from the 19th century, through to the first EV's of the modern era, to the rise of the more affordable Chinese manufacturers which are only just starting to appear on UK roads.

Martin also covered Battery development, including solid state and blade batteries which will revolutionise both range and cost of EV's.

Hydrogen fuel cells and self charging EV's were also included, as were swop out batteries, battery life and international comparisons.
