Some 41 members attended our final event of the year at Biggin Hall which has been our venue for the last few years.
Derbyshire Region Christmas Lunch
The Derbyshire Region Christmas Lunch was held at the Biggin Hall Hotel on Sunday 15th December. 41 Members attended which was a good turnout. Everyone appeared to enjoy themselves and the weather was kinder to us than in previous years (ie no snow or ice!!).
The Chris Hurrell trophy was presented by Chairman Geoff Fox to joint winners Pat & Roy Maskrey, Malcolm Groves and Bernard Hand. Chris was a valued member of the region until his sad passing and this award recognises the contribution made by the winners of the award to the region over many years.
We were pleased to be joined by members old and new, it is pleasing to see some of the newer members joining us for the first time this year and we hope that they will return as the region continues to attract enthusiasts to our events and meetings.
The lunch concluded with Geoffrey producing the well worn folder containing the tales and jokes which Lady Angela had previously reviewed and allowed Geoffrey to include in his speech. I nearly said 'Angela had approved', but it is probably more correct to say 'which Angela had not banned'!
Our programme for 2025 is nearing completion and will be issued shortly.
