Derbyshire Region Bonnets Up Meeting - 10th May 22

In previous years, when we were allowed to hold the event, the weather gods have made a habit of deciding not to play ball! However, this year the weather was perfect and a fantastic evening was had by all.

When we put the calendar together for this year, we deliberately put 'Bonnets Up' early in the year, to allow for (based on previous year's experience!) a number of weather related postponements. This year however, Geoffrey must have negotiated extra hard with the weather gods, because, believe it or not, the weather was perfect!

Not surprisingly, we had a really good turnout of 24 cars. The Robin Hood allowed us (almost!) exclusive use of the car park in front of the pub, and a great evening was had by all.

The Hatfield Cup for Pre 1996 cars was won by Barrie Birkin for his Black 1965 3.8 Jaguar S Type. The car really did look fantastic. Barrie is no stranger to the winners circle, having won the Don Holland Cup for for his new XJ saloon last year.

This year's winner of the Hatfield Cup for 1996/7 cars onwards was won by Peter Cole for his red Jaguar XKR.

Both these awards were decided by a vote of members present on the evening, and both cars were worthy winners.
