Derbyshire Region AGM

Derbyshire Region held their AGM in a packed Robin Hood on 11th April

Around 45 members of the region attended the AGM on Tuesday 11th April. This is the largest attendance at any Regional meeting that I have attended, and we await confirmation after Roger has checked the attendance records.

Whilst it must be admitted that the evening didn't start well for The Chairman (Geoff forgot what he had ordered to eat and chaos then ensued in the kitchen as they sought the couple who had ordered the 2 portions of fish and chips!). Geoff simply claimed that he was distracted at the bar!

We were pleased to welcome new member Dave Ashley who has joined the club only a month after purchasing his XJ. We look forward to inspecting it when the weather is more suitable Dave!

Roger marshalled through the AGM agenda, with a review of last year's minutes, the current finances, the mailing list now standing at around 100, of whom we see around 50% at some point during the year, the remainder being happy just to be kept aware of what's going on via the regular mailings. Subscriptions will remain as current, and the events for the year have already been circulated. Finally, the committee were re-elected unopposed for another 12 month term.

Nigel tied up some loose ends for the forthcoming trip to Wales and Hartley outlined the plans for the visit to The Jim Clark Museum at Duns in October.

Geoff closed the formal part of the meeting, not with his usual pre-vetted jokes but with thanks to the committee, and especially Roger, for their hard work over the previous year.
