JEC Derbyshire Region minutes of AGM

Tuesday 14th April 2015

Agenda:

We had a total of 35 members present on the night
Minutes of last meeting were approved
Current email list is 60 compared to 42 in 2014
Average attendance over last 12 months was 27 with minimum 21 and maximum 44
The financial figures were presented by Barrie and we have £235.70 cash in hand and these were approved by the members. We are proposing purchasing a Gazebo in the coming months for use at the BBQ in June and also it can be used by members on request.
We are proposing to continue with the £1 per meeting membership fee and this was approved by the members present.
The events for 2015 were circulated and we have added a few new ideas for the coming year. We have a trip to the Midland Railway Trust in May organised by Ian and Diane Bamford. Don and Christine Holland have agreed to put on a BBQ at their home for the June meeting and all proceeds will go to Weston Park Cancer Charity. Also in June we hope to go as a group to Harewood House for their Classic Car Show, and in July we will have lunch in Ashford in the Water then visit Thornbridge Brewery. We are also trying to fix a visit to Rolls Royce in Derby in September.
Under any other business it was suggested by Peter and Trisha Twyford we try to put together a list of people who members have used for specific work as this could help others when looking for specific trades. This is a good idea and should be followed up, so if members have contacts then please let Barrie or Roger know.
Barrie also indicated he would be prepared to step down as Chairman if anyone else was willing to take this on, but as there was silence from the floor he has agreed to continue. In a similar vein Roger is prepared to continue unless anyone else volunteered, but again no takers.
Graham and Pam Pilkington expressed thanks on behalf of the members for the work Barrie and Roger were doing and also the fact they were prepared to continue.
Barrie and Roger responded and gave their thanks to all the members for their support and the meeting was closed.
