Fiennes Restoration work their magic on a member's stunning E Type restoration

World-renowned Fiennes Restoration were kindly invited by the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club to attend their end of season track day event at Castle Combe race circuit last year.

Although the weather wasn’t ideal, it was great to see so many Jaguar owners attending the day, putting their cars through their paces on track.

Unfortunately for one owner, the day didn't quite go to plan with a bit of an off-track excursion and Fiennes undertook the work on putting the E-Type back to its original condition.

After a collision with the tyre wall It had a badly damaged rear and upon initial inspection back at the Fiennes workshop it was clear that the spare wheel had absorbed a large part of the impact.

And now it has had extensive work carried out including, re-alignment of the body, panels replaced, repainted and re-assembled, resulting in what now looks like a new car.

David Jane, Managing Director, “We would like to thank fellow Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club Member Partner, SNG Barratt and Martin Robey for a superb level of support to the supply chain, which allows classic cars like this Jaguar E-Type to live on today.

Starting out as Bentley and Rolls-Royce specialists over forty years ago, the company has now widened their portfolio and caters for a wide range of car marques, covering full restoration, engineering, coachwork and car sales and there have been quite a few E-Types and an XK140 gracing their workshops in the Cotswolds in the previous few months.

David Jane added, ”After the invitation to Castle Combe and the JEC members visit to our workshops last year, it is great to now be partnered with the club and we look forward to welcoming more members to our facilities in the Cotswolds."
