The agreement focuses on engine oils from technology development through to factory fill and aftersales. Castrol has said that its technology team will be developing new lubricant formulations to reduce CO₂ emissions.
Castrol will also supply every JLR engine plant in the UK, China and India.
In aftersales JLR will exclusively recommend Castrol EDGE Professional across its global dealer network, which will reach more than 2,000 JLR dealers worldwide. The portfolio of products Castrol will supply JLR is be extended to include e-fluids and car care products.
The two companies are investigating longer-term strategies to expand the partnership beyond engine lubricants.
Castrol’s relationship with Jaguar started in 1988 when the Jaguar XJR-9 won the Le Mans and Daytona races, lubricated by Castrol.
