XJ220 chassis 004 to appear at Blenheim Palace

The car appearing at Blenheim Palace for the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club's Summer Festival is one of the four XJ220 chassis transferred from Jaguar Sport Bloxham to TWR Racing in early 1993 for the preparation and assault on the GT Class for Le Mans that year. Of the four chassis prepared, three cars entered the race in 1993, one car competed in the USA and also in a British GT Race, and two cars competed at Le Mans in 1995.

Alastair Macqueen - Tyre testing for the XJ220

Coming in the car on Sunday will be ex-TWR Jaguar Sport Senior Engineer Alastair Macqueen who was responsible for the Bridgestone tyre testing programme for the XJ220 at Fort Stockton and was the same engineer who went to Italy for me in 2015 to assist with the development of the latest Bridgestone tyre for the XJ220.

Alastair used XJ220 pre production car number 004 which carried out all of the tyre testing in Fort Stockton back in the early 1990’s and was the same car that we took with Alastair back to Italy for the Bridgestone tests in 2015.

Don Law Racing

Founded in 1986, Don and Justin became close to TWR Racing and were personal guests of the Team in 1993 when three XJ220C ran at Le Mans. Jaguar took an interest in Don Law Racing’s ability to service XJ220 in 1997 due to their knowledge and experience of the car. Don serviced his customer cars and also took on new clients by introduction from Jaguar cars. Don also manufactured and supplied parts for Unipart. In 2007 the entire XJ220 parts stock and tooling was sold to Don Law Racing.
