JEC Seminars announced

We have some exciting seminars for you this year.

The Club is already well known for its technical seminars which are a major benefit of being a member. You only have to read the comments that come back after from the questionnaires, read the letters in the magazines or just speak to someone who has attended and you will know how good they are. Full blown full day seminars on specific Jaguar models with substantial technical input from known experts like David Marks and XJK. 

Some of this years seminars will build on the success of previously run programmes on the same models, others are entirely new or adapted with updates on the latest information available. The key thing is that as usual they are geared to a varied audience of those owning such models, those anticipating the purchase or those who carry out a lot of work themselves on their vehicles. 

Remember also what you get is a full day’s information, comradeship with other like-minded owners and members, and good food as well!

 

E-type Seminar- Saturday 19th March.

It’s been some time since we organised a seminar on the E-type and with so many owners of these models still in the Club or joining now as the values of these sports cars continue to rise making them ideal investment projects.

We apologise for the lateness in promoting this seminar but it will really be worth attending, so check out your diaries now and get your booking in quickly. The good news is that it is on the day before the International Jaguar Spares Day, so you have the opportunity to make a whole weekend out of it.

This seminar will cover the usual format of information about the models, regular maintenance and service, plus more in-depth aspects of maintenance, bodywork, etc. 

 

X-350 Seminar – Saturday 23rd April.

A very popular model now as the prices have been falling and people begin to realise what excellent cars these 2003 to 2008 XJs are. 

A similar format to previously with a potted history of the models, the cars to buy, what to look for, plus regular servicing and more complex issues now the cars are getting older and carry higher mileages. 

You certainly don’t want to miss this one if you own an X-350 or are thinking of buying one. They are wonderful cars that appear to carry fewer problems than many others, but you still need to know all you can about them to get the best out of them.

 

XF Seminar – Saturday 14th May.

Jaguar have produced over half a million of the XF models since its introduction in 2007 and what a fantastic car it has turned out to be. Another model that is becoming ever more popular in the Club and our XF Forum has blossomed over the stewardship of our co-ordinator Peter Simpson.

We previously ran an XF Seminar back in April of 2014 so it is about time we not only ran it again, but updated it with all the latest information as more and more is known about the cars as they get older and mileages increase. Now the car is out of production (replaced by a substantially different model), it is time to run another seminar covering all the models, all the years and specifications, and cover more of what may interest those who not only run, but also maintain their own cars.

 

Autumn Seminars.

There is more to come once the busy summer season is over and we will start on Saturday 10th September with a seminar covering the new XK Sportscar (2006 -2014) substantially updated from the last one we ran.  

This is followed on 8th October with an entirely new seminar covering the Jaguar Mark 1, 2, S-type and 420 models from 1956 to 1969. It’s been a long time since we ran one on the Mark 2s, and we have never covered the other 1960s compact models, so this should be of interest to all owners, and it will include information for Daimler 2.5 litre V8 and V8-250 owners.

The good thing here is that it is planned to coincide with the autumn International Jaguar Spares Day at Stoneleigh on the Sunday, so you could make a whole weekend out of this. More information on this shortly.

Finally on 19th November  there will be an entirely new seminar for the New XJ models (2009 onwards). This will cover both diesel and petrol models and is a must for those now looking to purchase one of the flaghip models in the Jaguar range. With a recently introduced Forum for these cars, we already know of the incredible interest in the model.

Booking now is essential for the E-type Seminar (19th March), X-350 Seminar (23rd April) and XF Seminar (7th May). 

The cost is just £60 for the whole day for members of the Club (non-members £80, with £20 refundable if they join the Club on the day and £20 for those not attending the seminar but coming along as a guest, covering food only). For this you are there for a whole day, get handouts and Cds on various matters relating to that seminar, morning coffee, a full luncheon and even an afternoon tea before you leave.
