Yorkshire Geriatrics Car Club - The South African Tour 2016
South Africa is often described as "a whole world in one country" due to its dramatic diversity of landscapes, cultures, and wildlife. If you have never experienced this ‘cradle of civilisation’ then you have not truly lived.
It is a number of years since the last JEC tour to South Africa so Tony Raylor, long time JEC member, who has 14 years of living in & 25 years of travelling around South Africa has put together a ‘multi make’ 22 night car tour which starts in Durban on South Africa’s east coast on 1st April 2016 and finishes in Cape Town on 23rd April 2016.
In the previous 18 days you will drive approx. 2000 miles and see/enjoy the rural areas of Kwa-Zulu Natal, the mountains of Lethoso, the Zulu/British Battlefields, the Golden Gate National Park, the Big Hole & diamond centre of Kimberley - (just for the ladies), the massive Karoo semi-desert, the historical & visual splendour of the Eastern Cape, 2 days at the ‘top’ in South African game reserve, the 800 km Garden Route coast, the Klein Karoo, the wine lands of the Western Cape and finally the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town & its environs.
Accommodation is in best quality hotels where possible with 2 night stops. You will only spend 10 days driving + 2 optional days and only 3 day of the 10 have a mileage of over 200 on great traffic free roads.
You can bringing your own car from the UK or by hire something locally.
The maximum number of entries is 20 cars and the entries close 30th June 2015
