A new addition to the roadside safety market is aiming to rethink one of motoring’s oldest – and riskiest – essentials. The ‘Be Seen Screen’ is a reflective breakdown warning banner designed to replace the traditional warning triangle with a quicker, safer solution.
Instead of placing a triangle on the road – often requiring drivers to walk into live traffic – the Be Seen Screen fixes directly to the rear of the vehicle using suction pads. It can be deployed in around 30 seconds and immediately creates a large, highly visible warning surface for approaching drivers
The screen uses micro-prismatic reflective material and a bold red-and-yellow chevron design to maximise visibility. According to the manufacturer, it can be seen from up to 500 metres away in both daylight and darkness, reflecting headlights back towards oncoming traffic.
Durability has also been a focus. The unit has been tested at the Millbrook Proving Ground, withstanding strong winds and maintaining its position when mounted to a vehicle, while the reinforced backing is designed for all-weather use.
The concept addresses growing concerns around the safety of warning triangles, particularly on high-speed roads where placing them can be dangerous. The Be Seen Screen instead keeps the driver out of harm’s way while still delivering a clear visual warning to other road users.
Compact enough to store in the boot and suitable for cars, vans and larger vehicles, it’s a simple idea – but one that could make a meaningful difference when it matters most.

That sign would be better if the chevrons indicated the safe direction to pass & this make it reversible or make the wording element a tow truck lifting a car & flippable so always correct. As is it looks like a highways or Police vehicle, which rather than warning off always seems to attract poor drivers for a rubber.
Two comments on your BeSeen Screen, that mean I shall not be buying one!
1) The safe way to deploy the warning triangles has always been to unfold it, hold it in front of you facing the oncoming traffic and walk back down the route you have just driven 50-100 yards, especially if there is a bend in the road. You are as visible as possible because of the triangle, you are watching the traffic that is driving towards you so you can step off the carriage way if someone appears not to have seen you, you give oncoming drivers a reasonable warning time that there is a stationary vehicle on the roaday in front of them, even if it is only s[lit seconds if they are doing 70mph. A warning on the vehicle does not give tham enough warning to slow and pull out, and is asking for a collison.
2) It covers the vehicle number plate, which is also reflective, and a legal requirement to be displayed if the vehicle is on the public highway. It also helps the Police, RAC, AA or other recovery vehicles to identify and find the vehicle thay are looking for.
