Ian James will join Jaguar TCS Racing as Team Principal ahead of the 2025/2026 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
Ian brings with him extensive leadership experience and expertise in Formula E, including two Teams’ and Drivers’ world titles with Mercedes, and most recently as Managing Director and Team Principal of McLaren Electric Racing.
Ian said, “I’m incredibly proud to be joining Jaguar – a brand with a unique history of technical innovation through racing and now with an exciting all‑electric future ahead of it. To be able to lead the talented team at Jaguar TCS Racing to fight for success on track while pioneering EV development through competition will be a privilege.”
Ian will lead them into Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, and subsequently into Formula E’s GEN4 era beginning late next year.
Ian, who will also be Managing Director JLR Motorsport, has a proven record of leadership success in Formula E, including four World Championship titles with Mercedes – two Teams’ and two Drivers’. Ian will join from McLaren Electric Racing, where he is Managing Director and Team Principal.
