The
XK140 externally was identifiable by the more substantial bumper bars, cast
radiator grille and internally by occasional rear seating and other trim
changes. To provide more room inside, the engine was moved forward by 3 inches
and for the first time an automatic transmission was available as an option.
The XK140 was also produced in the same three styles as the XK120, Roadster, Drop Head Coupe and Fixed Head Coupe and remained in production
until 1957.
