Sunday 26 April 2026
The FBHVC’s National Drive It Day returns on Sunday 26 April 2026, bringing together owners, clubs and enthusiasts of historic vehicles for a nationwide celebration of Britain’s motoring heritage – and a shared commitment to raising funds for NSPCC Childline.
Coordinated by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC), Drive It Day is the annual opportunity for classic, vintage and historic vehicles of all types to be enjoyed on the road. From pre-war cars and motorcycles to cherished modern classics, the event showcases the depth and diversity of the UK’s historic vehicle movement.
Across the country, hundreds of local events will take place, organised by vehicle clubs, museums, attractions and community groups. These range from informal breakfast meets and scenic runs to larger rallies, open days and charity fundraisers, all united by the same purpose: to celebrate responsible use of historic vehicles and to support a vital national cause.
Once again, Drive It Day 2026 will raise money for NSPCC Childline, helping to ensure that children and young people across the UK have access to confidential advice and support whenever they need it. Participants are encouraged to fundraise locally, donate individually, or support organised collections at Drive It Day events.
The theme of “Drive It” reflects the founding principle of the historic vehicle movement: that these vehicles are best preserved by being used, shared and enjoyed. Drive It Day also plays an important role in demonstrating to the public and policymakers the social, cultural and economic value of historic vehicles, their owners and the volunteers who support them.
Full details of the national programme, participating events and guidance on fundraising for Childline will be published in the coming months on Drive It Day and the FBHVC websites.
Whether taking part in a local club run or simply enjoying a favourite historic vehicle on the road, everyone is invited to be part of Drive It Day 2026 – a day that celebrates motoring history while making a positive difference to young lives.
