This is a totally bespoke ‘one-off’ R S Panels vehicle commissioned 20+ years ago by Paul Michaels of Hexagon of Highgate. An original 3.4 Mk 1 LHD saloon was sourced from a USA ‘dry state’ by R S Panels. The accompanying Heritage Certificate states the Jaguar Mk1 3.4 was manufactured on 10 March 1959 – LHD saloon, Manual Gearbox with Overdrive, and supplied to Jaguar Cars of New York.
The shell was bath stripped, treated and primed.
Initial modifications were then executed – Independent Rear Suspension was fitted and strengthened, Integral Side Lights and Louvred Bonnet added and the removal of air vents carried out to ‘clean up’ the lines. Bumper Overriders removed and Recessed Fuel Tank/Le Mans Filler Cap fitted prior to the entire shell being painted in Dark Metallic Green.

The build then proceeded to the following specification:
- High Torque 4.2 Engine bored out to 4.5
- 5 Speed Gearbox (T5)
- AP Racing Brakes
- Upgraded Springs & Anti-Roll Bar
- Xenon Headlights
- Upgraded Heater System with Rear Window Blower
- Upgraded Window Wiper System
- Front & Rear Seat Belts
- Individual Bucket Seats
- Stereo/CD System
- Borrani Wire Wheels
- Fire Extinguisher
- Power Steering
- Air Conditioning
This car took over 7 years to build and is accompanied by detailed history files containing extensive invoices for parts and work carried out by RS Panels, Suffolk & Turley, BR Motors, and XK Developments, totalling just over £180,000. More recent refurbishment and balancing of the Borranis by Turrino Wheels Ltd, along with a full set of appropriate Michelin tyres, was completed in September 2020. It has covered less than 1,000 miles since the rebuild was finished.
