Five things we can’t wait to see (and hear) in future Jaguars

Lately Jaguar Land Rover have been key innovators in the automotive sector. Using shared resources and research to improve the lives of those at the helm of their cars the last few years have been bright for JLR and the future looks even brighter. It’s an exciting time for those of us driving big cats, and here are five things we can’t wait to see (and hear) in the Jaguars of the future.

Life on the big screen

There is no denying that large configurable touch screens are making their way into JLR products. Take the new Velar for example, its dual Touchscreen system allows the user to simultaneously view and interact with multiple features at once. This gives the flexibility to use the system more efficiently, whilst viewing all of the information required.  Despite the lack of tactile touch points that some may find a challenge, Jaguars are about being sleek and elegant, and nothing displays this better than dual touch screens.

She’s electric

The I-Pace is the UK’s answer to the rise of Tesla, and with its own bespoke racing series it’s certainly hot tipped to make us sit up and take notice. While the tech is in its infancy now it will be a part of our lives moving forward, so let us embrace it and get excited about it. For a luxury Jag where silence and effortlessness are paramount, there is a lot to be said for a torquey and quiet electric system to carry around the discerning motorist.

Exciting four-pots

The F-Type is the latest car to have their engine downsized, and the response was rather positive. Based on the initial reviews and those in the months following its launch, it seems that this is quite the engine and if Jaguar can make a four-pot interesting then they may be the first – is it time to welcome a four-cylinder into your garage? Let us know in the comments.

All weather performance

Fast modern Jags have a reputation for being more than a touch Tail happy even in the driest of conditions. With the new Project 8 featuring Four-wheel drive and setting that blistering Nordschleife time could we be about to see Jaguar make a foray into the weather safe 4WD performance market? It would certainly be a welcome change to the current crop of fast RS Audi models as well as the new x-Drive M5. How much fun would it be to have a new 4WD family wagon with a Jaguar on the nose?

More noise!

Despite the trend for downsizing and the smaller base engine in the F-Type Jaguars still make one hell of a noise, this is something we’re definitely excited to hear more of – and long may it continue!

Agreed values

We have a number of highly-qualified experts who can inspect your vehicle prior to purchase and provide you with a full written report. In addition to their complete understanding of the mechanical and aesthetic aspects of vehicle inspection, they have extensive experience with the Jaguar marque which perfectly equips them to identify the unique requirements of specific models and years, something that is particularly important for older cars.

The cost of an inspection begins at £100, with the final figure determined by the time needed and the distance the inspector is required to travel. We can guarantee that your inspection will be cheaper than an equivalent AA or RAC inspection.

This small upfront outlay could save you thousands in the long term.

To arrange an inspection simply call JEC Head Office on 0117 969 8186 and they will provide you with details of your nearest inspector.

Also from our club HQ in Bristol we can give you an official valuation for insurance purposes. Our valuations are accepted by all leading insurance brokers and Companies.

GETTING STARTED

Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Insurance is designed specifically for members of the JEC. That’s why it covers JEC TrackSport events and offers cover for JEC Young Enthusiasts. Furthermore, the scheme recognises that members may have a combination of newer and more historic Jaguars and so the scheme caters for all, other individually or part of a multi-vehicle offering.

Club insurance doesn’t operate the way standard insurance does. While it does still take a vehicle’s mechanical characteristics into account, it also places a lot of emphasis on how the vehicle is used, cared for and maintained.

Club insurance also offers a host of benefits and products that you simply cannot get outside of membership of the JEC, such as member to member cover for example. This enables you to drive your friends Jaguars at regional meets, events and on tours with fully comprehensive cover and without the need to complete more paperwork or ring up and incur costs for adding named drivers.

This way, you’ll be comfortable knowing that you have a policy that fits your vehicle and your usage needs perfectly.
