Jaguar Set to Prowl the Cotswolds

A must for any Jaguar and motoring fan alike, the Cotswolds Jaguar Festival, on the 21st and 22nd of May, also promises to be a delight for the whole family.

The Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club (JEC) are set to take over the Cotwolds by starting with a rally on Saturday the 21st May at Sudeley Castle.

Sudeley Castle was recently voted the most romantic venue in the Cotswolds area and it is easy to see why when you stroll around the grounds, gardens, castle, rare birds and the beautiful St Mary’s Church.

This celebration of everything Jaguar is a change from our usual Sunday gathering, but for good reason as on Sunday the Club enjoys a day at Prescott Hill Climb

“This is one of the countries most revered hill climbs and when you drive it (all 1127 yards of it) you’ll understand why. If you’re not taking part then you can park up and enjoy the panoramic views the venue provide or find a good spot to take in the sight and sounds of Jaguars taking on the hill.

“The day is split into morning and afternoon runs and we currently have just over half the potential runs booked. There is the strong possibility of more runs on the day if the thrill of tackling the course bites having enjoyed a day there back in 2014.

“Our national days are a great way to experience the ‘grace and space’ of the Jaguar marque when approximately 500 Jaguars fill up various parking displays. The addition of the Prescott Hill Climb on Sunday adds the ‘pace’ element to the weekend, completing the famous advertising slogan from the 1960’s of: ‘Grace, Space and Pace’,” adds James.

The Club house affords a grandstand view of the start and first few twists before the cars make their way up to the top of the course. Also the Bugatti Museum will be open on the day for you to peruse and enjoy some automotive history.

The Club house will be open for breakfast providing the expected hearty start to any adventurous day and throughout the day, with a two course buffet lunch on offer too.

There will be lots to enjoy for young and old and on the day we will be keeping everyone entertained with Joseph Peace and his crazy fire act so prepare to get warm.

Music act ‘Rock Til Ya Drop’ will be providing the tunes, with hits from the 1950s and 60s and there will also be displays of falconry and flower arranging. The castle also has a fantastic outdoor adventure playground, which makes it great for the whole family.

“I look forward to seeing you all there and reporting back on the day with plenty of images and videos,” concludes James.

Agreed values

We have a number of highly-qualified experts who can inspect your vehicle prior to purchase and provide you with a full written report. In addition to their complete understanding of the mechanical and aesthetic aspects of vehicle inspection, they have extensive experience with the Jaguar marque which perfectly equips them to identify the unique requirements of specific models and years, something that is particularly important for older cars.

The cost of an inspection begins at £100, with the final figure determined by the time needed and the distance the inspector is required to travel. We can guarantee that your inspection will be cheaper than an equivalent AA or RAC inspection.

This small upfront outlay could save you thousands in the long term.

To arrange an inspection simply call JEC Head Office on 0117 969 8186 and they will provide you with details of your nearest inspector.

Also from our club HQ in Bristol we can give you an official valuation for insurance purposes. Our valuations are accepted by all leading insurance brokers and Companies.

GETTING STARTED

Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Insurance is designed specifically for members of the JEC. That’s why it covers JEC TrackSport events and offers cover for JEC Young Enthusiasts. Furthermore, the scheme recognises that members may have a combination of newer and more historic Jaguars and so the scheme caters for all, other individually or part of a multi-vehicle offering.

Club insurance doesn’t operate the way standard insurance does. While it does still take a vehicle’s mechanical characteristics into account, it also places a lot of emphasis on how the vehicle is used, cared for and maintained.

Club insurance also offers a host of benefits and products that you simply cannot get outside of membership of the JEC, such as member to member cover for example. This enables you to drive your friends Jaguars at regional meets, events and on tours with fully comprehensive cover and without the need to complete more paperwork or ring up and incur costs for adding named drivers.

This way, you’ll be comfortable knowing that you have a policy that fits your vehicle and your usage needs perfectly.
