JEC & JDHT
Cast your minds back to May 2021 and a story we ran in the Friday 'spotlight' asking members to complete a short survey for the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (JDHT). JDHT had literally hundreds of responses and each respondent was entered into a prize draw to win a VIP day at JDHT.
Our member, Alan Jose was the lucky winner and recently enjoyed his day at JDHT. Alan describes the day and what he got up to at JDHT:-
"When you telephoned to advise me that I had won the Prize of the Visit to the JDHT I was really surprised as I rarely win anything but the write up on the Friday Spotlight about the Competition sounded so interesting I had to enter!
To have my car inspected in the JDHT workshop was in itself a privilege and I am pleased not too much was reported. The picture of my car next to one of my favourite SS Cars and also Princess Diana’s XJS in the workshop will be treasured.
It was so interesting to tour the collection of cars with my favourites being the Daimler Corsica and the William Lyons XJ6.
The highlight among many however, was the trip around the Warwickshire lanes in LWK 707, the XK120, a car that I have read about over the years and admired for its exploits in Paris all those years ago and even before I was born! what a treat and I was amazed at how comfortable the car was and so potent, truly a legend of a car and how wonderful it, like so many in the collection are used.
Truly a day to remember and a big part of my personal Jaguar story."
A huge thank you to Matt Davis & Tony Merrygold, at JDHT for providing such a wonderful experience for Alan.
