With clear blue skies and forecast high temperatures 12 Jaguars and 24 members arrived for our club’s first visit to the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln.
Twelve Jaguars and 24 members assembled on the front lawn. Our cars included sports cars, grand tourers and luxury saloons. From the 1950s glamorous XK, through to the latest 2020s powerful F-types.
After the obligatory photo shoots of the attendees and car line up we broke off for a morning cuppa in the restaurant.
Our guide for the morning was Jeff Byrne, himself ex RAF, and also a Jaguar owner approached me and asked if he could park his E-Pace alongside our cars, so our line up grew to 13 and we now had an SUV to represent the brand.
Jeff was in every way exceptional as a guide, his knowledge and equally importantly his delivery kept everyone captivated and an hour on our private tour passed all too quickly.
Jeff didn’t get to leave without being given one of our region cards for his consideration to join us at a monthly meeting.
We were given exclusive use of the garden marquee and a platter lunch was enjoyed by the group, as some bid farewell, others decided it was ice cream time in the air conditioned restaurant.
A successful trip for us and visitors to the IBCC that day also enjoyed the added surprise benefit of a Jaguar display.

Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Insurance is designed specifically for members of the JEC. That’s why it covers JEC TrackSport events and offers cover for JEC Young Enthusiasts.
