North East

Within our North East region, there is a wide and varied ownership of Jaguars and Daimlers, from the classic and flagship eras right up to the present day, so whether you have just bought your first Jaguar or Daimler, or have previously owned many of the marque, we are sure that you will benefit from meeting up with enthusiastic and like-minded owners.

Whether you just want to socialise, talk cars, get advice or meet other Jaguar and Daimler owners for a social evening then your local JEC North East region club is the best place for you and your Jaguar or Daimler to be.

Our monthly members meeting is based in a private meeting room at the Ravensworth Arms, Greenford Lane, Lamesley, Gateshead, NE11 0ER and are held on the last Tuesday of each month, commencing at 8 pm with a delicious buffet served for our members and visitors to enjoy.

At our monthly members meeting we do in the main talk cars and the upcoming activities we plan to enjoy as a club and this discussion can take many forms as we have members who enjoy using their car day to day, members who exhibit their vehicles at car shows, and others who are actively carrying out restoration projects and home maintenance as well as whole spectrum of members with driving or car related interests in between. Our member night events also include regular talks by guest speakers and we also host quiz nights.

The Ravensworth Arms also serves delicious food and drinks all week so why not enjoy a drive out and enjoy our hosts fayre or come early and enjoy a meal with other JEC members who often dine on members night.

We will post on our WhatsApp Community Group, social media and our JEC Regional Page forthcoming events where regional members of the North east region will be attending, as well as providing a forum for individual articles relating to Jaguars and Daimlers of all ages. We also encourage you to come meet us at the North East Jaguar Day at the Durham Regatta on Sunday 15th June 2025 (all Jaguar and Daimler owners are welcome so please email us to gain entry) or come talk to us at the Durham City Car Show on Bank Holiday Monday 25th August 2025 where we will be proudly exhibiting many of our members cars on the Framwellgate Bridge.

We also hold Members' Cars' Nights, participate in the National Drive It Day 2025, have runs to various local north east attractions, attend NECPWA events (<https://necpwa.org/page.php?51>) as well as have a presence at many of the local and national car shows throughout the summer months.

Insurance Checklist

Before you get in touch with us please make sure to note down as many of the following details as possible. If you can complete the checklist ahead of time, it’ll make the process of arranging your insurance quick, simple and easy.

 

Personal Details

  • Your personal details, including your full address, home, work and mobile phone numbers, and email address.
  • The full name, address, date of birth, duration of licence to drive, and 5-year claim and conviction record of the person who will be driving the vehicle(s).
  • Your membership number for the JEC
  • How many vehicles are in the household (you might qualify for multi-car insurance).

 

Vehicle Details

  • The make, model and year of the vehicle(s).
  • The current overall mileage of the vehicle(s).
  • The engine size and specification of the vehicle(s).
  • All modifications made to the vehicle(s), such as the installation of non-standard wheels, aftermarket electronic equipment, performance-enhancing parts, or cosmetic upgrades.
  • Any previous professional valuations of the vehicle(s).

 

Vehicle Use

  • Where the vehicle(s) is/are typically kept overnight (e.g. a garage).
  • The expected annual mileage of the vehicle(s).
  • What the vehicle(s) is/are typically used for.
  • What cover (if any) is required for:
    • Commuting or driving as part of a job.
    • JEC TrackSport, or other such situations.
    • Use of the vehicle(s) abroad.

GETTING STARTED

Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Insurance is designed specifically for members of the JEC. That’s why it covers JEC TrackSport events and offers cover for JEC Young Enthusiasts. Furthermore, the scheme recognises that members may have a combination of newer and more historic Jaguars and so the scheme caters for all, other individually or part of a multi-vehicle offering.

Club insurance doesn’t operate the way standard insurance does. While it does still take a vehicle’s mechanical characteristics into account, it also places a lot of emphasis on how the vehicle is used, cared for and maintained.

Club insurance also offers a host of benefits and products that you simply cannot get outside of membership of the JEC, such as member to member cover for example. This enables you to drive your friends Jaguars at regional meets, events and on tours with fully comprehensive cover and without the need to complete more paperwork or ring up and incur costs for adding named drivers.

This way, you’ll be comfortable knowing that you have a policy that fits your vehicle and your usage needs perfectly.
