In this week’s blog, Joachim talks in more detail about Jaguar’s big saloons event, launched in 2011 and held in Geertruidenberg, Netherlands.

Since we launched, we have gathered between 14 to 31 owners of these magnificent saloons to celebrate and enjoy a weekend together in true British style of the fifties and sixties.

The event is organised by owners of the magnificent old saloons and we welcome all owners of Mark VII to IX, from various countries around the world.

The Big Saloons on Tour, has become the most important event in Europe for every lover of the grand old Jaguar flagship saloons Mark VII, VII M, VIII, VIII B and IX.

For this year’s ‘Big Saloons on Tour’, taking place on May 13th, 31 Jaguar models from Mark VII to IX are registered and this is set to be the biggest gathering yet. Participants are due to arrive from Switzerland, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Germany making this a truly international festival of the great old flagship saloons.

You might also be interested to hear that ‘Big Saloons on Tour’ will be a major attraction in the UK at the 2017 Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival, organised by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club and supported by Jaguar Land Rover Ltd.

Raising funds for The Prince Philip Trust, a superb provider of social welfare and education support, the festival will be one of the largest gatherings of Jaguars, Daimlers and SS cars.

Each of these events has been fantastic and unique, but next year’s looks to be an unforgettable year with an outstanding, truly historic event and all in the aid of charity. The big old saloons Mark VII to IX from the European continent will return home to their birthplace to come together with many other saloons from Britain on a truly royal and English Location.

The Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival is set to draw record attendance to Windsor next spring and the Jaguar community are planning to bring together more than 40 Jaguar Mark VII, VII M, VIII, VIII B and IX. In the coming months we will publish some more details in the Mark VII to IX forum, on the JEC blog and also in our Jaguar Enthusiast magazine…

Do you want to enjoy a unique weekend with other Jaguar saloon owners? Then make sure you get involved with the Big Saloons on Tour 2017 at Windsor Castle from 5th to 7th May 2017, with ‘Grace, Space and Pace’.

Agreed values

We have a number of highly-qualified experts who can inspect your vehicle prior to purchase and provide you with a full written report. In addition to their complete understanding of the mechanical and aesthetic aspects of vehicle inspection, they have extensive experience with the Jaguar marque which perfectly equips them to identify the unique requirements of specific models and years, something that is particularly important for older cars.

The cost of an inspection begins at £100, with the final figure determined by the time needed and the distance the inspector is required to travel. We can guarantee that your inspection will be cheaper than an equivalent AA or RAC inspection.

This small upfront outlay could save you thousands in the long term.

To arrange an inspection simply call JEC Head Office on 0117 969 8186 and they will provide you with details of your nearest inspector.

Also from our club HQ in Bristol we can give you an official valuation for insurance purposes. Our valuations are accepted by all leading insurance brokers and Companies.

GETTING STARTED

Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Insurance is designed specifically for members of the JEC. That’s why it covers JEC TrackSport events and offers cover for JEC Young Enthusiasts. Furthermore, the scheme recognises that members may have a combination of newer and more historic Jaguars and so the scheme caters for all, other individually or part of a multi-vehicle offering.

Club insurance doesn’t operate the way standard insurance does. While it does still take a vehicle’s mechanical characteristics into account, it also places a lot of emphasis on how the vehicle is used, cared for and maintained.

Club insurance also offers a host of benefits and products that you simply cannot get outside of membership of the JEC, such as member to member cover for example. This enables you to drive your friends Jaguars at regional meets, events and on tours with fully comprehensive cover and without the need to complete more paperwork or ring up and incur costs for adding named drivers.

This way, you’ll be comfortable knowing that you have a policy that fits your vehicle and your usage needs perfectly.
