The Cheshire Cats at Capesthorne Hall

Visit Capesthorne Hall, enjoy the magnificent historic house, grounds and gardens set in the beautiful rolling green fields of Cheshire and join like-minded classic car owners on the 24th May 2026 when a superb collection of Jaguar/Daimler cars will be on display, many taking pride of place in the courtyard of the hall.  The event hosted by Classic Shows of Holmfirth has been supported by the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ regions of the North West; Staffordshire North, North Wales, Lancashire Red Rose, Greater Manchester and Cheshire over many years.  In 2025, members of the Jaguar Drivers Club and other independent Jaguar owners made this show one to remember, with a fantastic display of over 100 Jaguar vehicles.

2026 Promises to be even better with one of the very rare XJ40 estates on show from David Marks as the XJ model celebrates 40 years since its introduction to the market. This car will be driven to the event by Paul Keating who is the mastermind behind the XJ40 register which contains details of over 100,000 XJ40 (including X350 and X400) models built; an ideal opportunity for anyone owning one of these models or contemplating buying one to learn more about them.  In addition to the XJ40 estate, this car will be joined by another surprise unique vehicle in keeping with the event theme, details to follow.

The Jaguars will be joined by many other marques of classic, prestigious cars and car clubs providing a wide ranging collection of interesting and unique vehicles.  In 2025 nearly 750 vehicles were on display at this event.

With a busy arena providing an opportunity to have your classic scrutinised by a professional judge in one of the various classes during the day, you could be driving home with a ‘Best in Class’ or even a ‘Best in Show’ award.  Special awards are being made this year for the XJ40 (40 years old), XK8 (X100) (30 years) and XK (X150) (20 years) in recognition of the significant milestones since launched onto the market, bring your Jaguar along and join the line up.

Supported on the day by an array of food outlets, trade stands and live music, this promises to be a great day out for all car enthusiasts.

Come and show off your pride and joy.

Agreed values

We have a number of highly-qualified experts who can inspect your vehicle prior to purchase and provide you with a full written report. In addition to their complete understanding of the mechanical and aesthetic aspects of vehicle inspection, they have extensive experience with the Jaguar marque which perfectly equips them to identify the unique requirements of specific models and years, something that is particularly important for older cars.

The cost of an inspection begins at £100, with the final figure determined by the time needed and the distance the inspector is required to travel. We can guarantee that your inspection will be cheaper than an equivalent AA or RAC inspection.

This small upfront outlay could save you thousands in the long term.

To arrange an inspection simply call JEC Head Office on 0117 969 8186 and they will provide you with details of your nearest inspector.

Also from our club HQ in Bristol we can give you an official valuation for insurance purposes. Our valuations are accepted by all leading insurance brokers and Companies.

GETTING STARTED

Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Insurance is designed specifically for members of the JEC. That’s why it covers JEC TrackSport events and offers cover for JEC Young Enthusiasts. Furthermore, the scheme recognises that members may have a combination of newer and more historic Jaguars and so the scheme caters for all, other individually or part of a multi-vehicle offering.

Club insurance doesn’t operate the way standard insurance does. While it does still take a vehicle’s mechanical characteristics into account, it also places a lot of emphasis on how the vehicle is used, cared for and maintained.

Club insurance also offers a host of benefits and products that you simply cannot get outside of membership of the JEC, such as member to member cover for example. This enables you to drive your friends Jaguars at regional meets, events and on tours with fully comprehensive cover and without the need to complete more paperwork or ring up and incur costs for adding named drivers.

This way, you’ll be comfortable knowing that you have a policy that fits your vehicle and your usage needs perfectly.
