The East Sussex Region Big Weekend event

East Sussex Region’s BIG WEEKEND, taking place on 18–19 July, is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated regional Jaguar gatherings of the year, with over 300 cars expected to attend across the two-day celebration.

More than 300 Jaguars, Daimlers and other celebrated British marques will converge on the magnificent Bannatyne Hotel in Hastings, East Sussex — an exceptional venue steeped in history. Originally built in 1719 and significantly remodelled in 1776 by General Sir James Murray, former Governor of Quebec, this elegant Georgian country house sits within 38 acres of picturesque grounds and woodland.

Throughout its distinguished history, the property has passed through several notable custodians before being sensitively transformed by entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne into the luxury hotel, spa and wedding venue it is today. Perfectly positioned between Battle and Hastings, the estate retains its striking 18th-century character while offering refined modern comfort — an ideal setting for a celebration of Jaguar craftsmanship, heritage and camaraderie.

To welcome a broader audience of Jaguar and Daimler owners, this year’s BIG WEEKEND has been thoughtfully expanded into a full two-day experience. Preferential accommodation rates have been secured for those wishing to immerse themselves in the entire weekend, encouraging members travelling from further afield to relax and fully enjoy the occasion.

Saturday has been intentionally designed as a more leisurely day, allowing guests to unwind after their journeys. Attendees can take advantage of the hotel’s spa and pool facilities, enjoy the adjoining golf course, or simply explore the beautiful grounds at their own pace.

The evening promises to be a highlight of the weekend. Guests may join us for the evening for a three-course dinner at £60 per head (included for those staying overnight), followed by our VIP after-dinner speakers, adding insight and entertainment to the occasion.

Alternatively, for those preferring a more informal atmosphere, the hotel’s elegant bar and lounge areas provide the perfect environment to reconnect with fellow enthusiasts over cocktails and conversation.

With an extraordinary venue, an exceptional display of British motoring heritage, and a welcoming community spirit at its heart, East Sussex Region’s BIG WEEKEND is set to be a truly memorable event. We hope that you will join us.

We have a number of highly-qualified experts who can inspect your vehicle prior to purchase and provide you with a full written report. In addition to their complete understanding of the mechanical and aesthetic aspects of vehicle inspection, they have extensive experience with the Jaguar marque which perfectly equips them to identify the unique requirements of specific models and years, something that is particularly important for older cars.

The cost of an inspection begins at £100, with the final figure determined by the time needed and the distance the inspector is required to travel. We can guarantee that your inspection will be cheaper than an equivalent AA or RAC inspection.

This small upfront outlay could save you thousands in the long term.

To arrange an inspection simply call JEC Head Office on 0117 969 8186 and they will provide you with details of your nearest inspector.

Also from our club HQ in Bristol we can give you an official valuation for insurance purposes. Our valuations are accepted by all leading insurance brokers and Companies.

GETTING STARTED

Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Insurance is designed specifically for members of the JEC. That’s why it covers JEC TrackSport events and offers cover for JEC Young Enthusiasts. Furthermore, the scheme recognises that members may have a combination of newer and more historic Jaguars and so the scheme caters for all, other individually or part of a multi-vehicle offering.

Club insurance doesn’t operate the way standard insurance does. While it does still take a vehicle’s mechanical characteristics into account, it also places a lot of emphasis on how the vehicle is used, cared for and maintained.

Club insurance also offers a host of benefits and products that you simply cannot get outside of membership of the JEC, such as member to member cover for example. This enables you to drive your friends Jaguars at regional meets, events and on tours with fully comprehensive cover and without the need to complete more paperwork or ring up and incur costs for adding named drivers.

This way, you’ll be comfortable knowing that you have a policy that fits your vehicle and your usage needs perfectly.
