Jaguar TCS Racing opens its landmark tenth Formula E season this weekend as the championship gets underway in São Paulo. For Jaguar enthusiasts, it’s a moment worth noting: ten years of all-electric racing, and the team arrives with real momentum and a refreshed line-up.
Last season delivered one of Jaguar’s strongest runs in modern motorsport. The I-TYPE 7 took six wins, including five in the final six races, and helped secure the 2024 Teams’ World Championship and the first Manufacturer’s World Championship title. It was Jaguar’s first global motorsport crown since 1991.

This year the team looks different. António Félix da Costa joins Mitch Evans, forming one of the most capable driver pairings on the grid. Da Costa makes his Jaguar debut in the #13 car, while Evans starts his tenth season with the team — a milestone few drivers reach with a single marque.
São Paulo is a fitting place to begin. Evans won here last year after fighting from 22nd on the grid, with da Costa (then in a rival car) chasing him to the flag. Jaguar’s #9 car has never finished off the podium in Brazil, and both drivers know how to race well on this fast, flowing street circuit.

There’s change behind the scenes too. Ian James steps in as team principal, bringing calm leadership and experience to a garage now expected to challenge for titles every weekend.
As ever, the technology developed in the I-TYPE 7 feeds directly into Jaguar’s future electric road cars. For many club members, that link — racing and road — is what makes this programme special.
Ten seasons in, Jaguar TCS Racing is no longer the newcomer. It’s a regular contender with something to defend and something bigger to build. The lights go out on Saturday, 6th December.
