JEC Derbyshire Region Summer 'Run Out'

There was a very good turnout for the annual summer 'Run Out' with 18 cars completing the run.

The annual Run Out attracted a very good entry and 18 cars started (and finished!) the run over 40 miles in the Derbyshire Peak District. We even had some very pleasant weather with sunshine and warm temperatures.

Starting at The Robin Hood, cars travelled via Owler Bar, Hathersage, Castleton, Winnats Pass, Edale, Foolow, Eyam and Calver Sough to Great Longstone, finishing at The Crispin Inn.

Many members commentated that even though they had lived in the area for many years, or even their entire lives, the route took them down roads they had never before travelled.

Some had encountered difficulties in getting to the start by the prescribed time due to traffic in Sheffield, but nevertheless managed to get to the finish point for their meal! We were particularly pleased to welcome new members Dave and Kate Hogwood, and also members from the Doncaster region who made the trip over and we hope to see you again next year if not before!

We had a good turn out of E-Types, together with Barrie's S-Type and the usual collection of XK's, the convertables of which managed all or part of the route topless!
