Essex and Suffolk Borders - February News

News from our chairman and from around the region

Our lunches at Diss and Clacton went very well and with just Felixstowe to go in March the show season will be upon us. James will shortly supplement his E Type with an XJ (X351) so I bet Neil will be delighted to get in it through a proper back door, rather than trying to be the Plus 2 in the E Type!

Plans are going well for Rickinghall on 19 May. Rather than let the public choose the winner and the subsequent fiddling from a certain Rolls Royce, our very own Bob Welton will be putting on his judges rosette. Trophies have been ordered for First place and two runners up. An interesting addition this year will be the arrival of a local young man who is in remission from cancer, raising money for cancer charities. He is driving from Lands End to John O'Groats in a Citroën Picasso bought for a few hundred pounds. Painted pink, it will be called the Pigasso, reflecting his farming employment. He will finish back home at the show - we wish him well.

Another date for your diaries is 21 September when we will visit the Lotus Racing HQ in Hethel. Places are limited, so book with Martin sooner rather than later if you would like to attend.
