Mark VIII

From 1958 to 1959

In 1958 the Mark VIII was introduced as an interim model, initially listed alongside the Mark VIIM. With a revised interior, more prominent radiator grille and chrome trim and the option of two-tone exterior paintwork, the car also stayed in production alongside its replacement, the Mark IX, until 1959.

This 2.2 mile Parkland circuit is wonderful when dry but in the wet, with a grid full of Jaguars? A totally different story. Arriving on Friday for free practice, it was pouring & extremely slippery.

There can be no nicer circuit than Oulton Park on a warm sunny day & that's what we woke up to. This was the final round of the championship with so much to win (or lose) for both class points & the overall championship.
