JEC South Lincs. - Weekend Away to Kenilworth. May 2019.

Thanks you Phill and Sue for organising this great weekend away.

On the Friday, after a gentle meander through some lovely Leicestershire countryside, punctuated by a compulsory pub stop over at the Shires Inn, Peatling Parva we all arrived at The Chesford Grange, Kenilworth to check in for our three night stay.

On Saturday we visited the British Heritage Motor Museum, which also housed the Jaguar Heriage Trust collection of iconic Jaguar vehicles.

It was great insight to have our own parking area, as the Porsche club and Slot Car Racing club were also in attendance that day, making it a very busy venue, but we had lots of cars (and slot cars) to admire.

That evening it was our pleasure to welcome Peter and Angela Purdom to join us for our club dinner, where we also celebrated the birthday of three club members - Kim, Wendy and Russ. The official secrets act prevents us from revealing ages.

It was too bad that Phill and Sue were unable to stay for Sunday to enjoy a casual 50 mile drive through the Warwick and Oxfordshire countryside, which took us past some notable country homes, MOD ammunition dumps, civil war battle fields and finally the country home of Sir William and Lady Greta Lyons.

Overall we were blessed with some better than expected weather, a great venue and even better company. Thank you to all who helped make this yet another great weekend away.
